After Hours Care

Care We Provide

After Hours Clinic

After Hours Care is only for patients who’s family doctor is part of the Ancaster FHO.

The After Hours Clinic is for new, urgent medical concerns only. It is not suited for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency please call 911 or visit your nearest Emergency Department. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis click here or call/text 988.

After Hours Care should not be utilized for:

  • Prescription renewal requests (including narcotics, sedatives or controlled substances)

  • Routine appointments

  • Review of lab tests or procedures

  • Referral requests, driver’s physicals, pre-operative assessments or preventative health visits; these appointments are best addressed by your own family physician who knows your full medical history

Hours

There is an on-call physician providing after hours care everyday.

Monday to Friday: 5pm-8pm*; to best access care, we encourage our patients to call before 730pm if they are wanting to be assessed during an evening After Hours Clinic.

Saturday, Sunday & Holidays: 10am - 1pm* (exceptions may arise); to best access care, we encourage our patients to call before 1pm if they are wanting to be assessed during a weekend or holiday After Hours Clinic.

*While we strive to accommodate all patients during our After Hours Clinic, please understand during times of high patient volume or near the end of clinic hours the on-call physician may need to prioritize based on medical urgency.

Location

The location of the After Hours clinic will vary depending on which doctor is on-call that day. Please contact your own family doctor’s office for guidance on how to access the on-call physician and the After Hours Care clinic.
